A Word Before You Begin

This article is written for adults who are seriously curious about traditional grimoire magic. It is not romanticised. The Goetic spirits — the 72 demons of the Lesser Key of Solomon — and the Grimorium Verum spirits like Rosier are powerful intelligences. Treat them like you would a senior diplomat from a foreign and very old culture: with respect, clear contracts, and offerings.

If words like "demon" make you uncomfortable, there is no shame in choosing a guardian angel or Archangel Michael instead. Both paths are valid.

Who Is Sitri?

Sitri is the 12th spirit of the Ars Goetia, ranked as a Great Prince commanding 60 legions. He is depicted with the face of a leopard and the wings of a griffin, but appears in human form when commanded.

His specialty: causing two people to feel intense, mutual passion for each other, and revealing the secret desires of one person to another. He is famous for "uncovering nakedness" — meaning he strips away pretence, masks and games in love.

When he is petitioned correctly, things move fast. Practitioners commonly report results in 3 to 21 days.

Who Is Rosier?

Rosier is not from the Goetia. He appears in the Grimorium Verum (18th century French grimoire) and is listed under the demon Astaroth as a specialist of love, particularly long-term commitment, marriage, and reconciliation after a breakup.

Where Sitri ignites passion, Rosier builds the container that keeps it alive. Modern practitioners often petition them together: Sitri for the spark, Rosier for the lasting bond.

How to Petition Them — The Modern Respectful Method

You do not need a full ceremonial circle for first contact. What you do need is sincerity, focus and a clear offer.

What you need

  • A black or deep red candle
  • The spirit's sigil (printed cleanly on white paper)
  • A glass of dark coffee, red wine, or pomegranate juice as offering
  • A written petition (one specific request, never vague)
  • 20 minutes of total privacy

The ritual

  1. Cleanse the space with a salt cleansing ritual and protect yourself first by calling Archangel Michael. Yes, even working with goetic spirits — angels and demons coexist in serious occult work.
  2. Light the candle. Place the sigil in front of it.
  3. Stare softly at the sigil until it appears to "flicker" or move — this is your signal contact is open.
  4. Read your petition out loud. State what you want, by when, and what you offer in return (a public thank-you, a future offering, a dedicated piece of jewellery).
  5. End with: "I dismiss you in peace, with thanks. Go where you will, return when called."
  6. Burn the petition. Leave the offering for 24 hours, then dispose of it outside.
Critical: Never make promises you will not keep. Goetic spirits remember. Pay what you owe.

Three Real Practitioner Case Studies

Case 1 — Sitri to Reignite a Stalled Connection

Elena, 29, Lisbon. Had been on three dates with a man who then went quiet. One Sitri petition, asking only for "honest, mutual desire — or a clean release." He texted within 48 hours, admitted he had been scared of how strong his feelings were, and they have been together 14 months.

Case 2 — Rosier for Marriage Reconciliation

Marcus, 41, Toronto. Wife had moved out. Worked Rosier for 21 nights with a single white candle and daily journaling. Wife asked to attend couples therapy on day 19. They reconciled four months later. Marcus still tends a small Rosier altar with fresh roses every Friday — that is paying what you owe.

Case 3 — When It Goes Wrong

Anonymous, 26. Petitioned Sitri to make a specific married coworker leave his wife. Got obsessive behaviour from the coworker, a HR complaint, and lost the job. Lesson: Sitri honours requests literally. Asking to interfere with someone else's marriage or free will almost always backfires on the petitioner. Ask for the right partner for you, not for that specific person.

Ethical Guardrails (Read Twice)

  • Never petition for someone who is in another committed relationship.
  • Never use these spirits to harm, control, or punish.
  • Always include the clause: "or someone better suited to my highest good."
  • Always cleanse afterwards. Pair with shadow work prompts to process anything that comes up.
  • If you feel oppression, anxiety or bad dreams for more than 3 nights, formally dismiss the spirit and call Archangel Michael for clearing.
